This is just a general understanding of situation question.

When using the Jukebox 3 via uploading with firewire (using the Creative Audigy Card) I was getting blips and hiccups in nearly every song. So just for kicks and giggles I used the USB cable a viola, worked perfectly, not a single blip or hiccup at all. So I am wondering why this is, maybe should I get a dedicated firewire card or is this just a common problem. I don't mind using the USB to transfer files, I am just curious as to why this is.

Current PC setup:
Falcon Northwest Mach V
Athlon XP 2200+
512mb DDR Ram
GeForce 4 TI-4600

so as you can see it shouldn't be a CPU performace issue.

It just sounds like data is being screwed up or corrupted when it's being transferred via firewire.

The same problem occurs on the iPod.

If you have a VIA chipset motherboard, I would install a PCI Latency timer patch, adjust the timer in the BIOS, or get another firewire card.
