Ok so I have an album all as a single FLAC file, and I've lost the cue sheet for it, so I can't split it into tracks.
As I prefer multiple files anyway now, what's the best way to do this without a cue sheet?
I'm guessing I can convert it to WAV and use EAC or something?

I have found a cue sheet for it, but EAC is saying there's an error in it :/

Check if you find a matching cue sheet.

x2 @ krmathis suggestion, but failing that post the contents of the cue file in a post, sometimes you just need to edit the standard/format within

i had an error in a pink floyd one, and edited and then it worked

The only thing I can think of is inputting the flac to mkvtoolnix. Muxing to an .mkv and split the mkv output. Extract the split flac. It should work but seems like a lot of trouble lol.

Just edit the Cue to match the files, Replace '.wav' with '.flac'. Saves WAVing.

I use CUE Splitter.

I think I would try to burn a CD (or image) then re-rip to separate files.

Splitting up a file is a completely lossless job

Because most file splitter applications don't support FLAC. At least not those I have found..
On a side note. How would he transfer tags from a single FLAC file to multiple FLAC files anyway? The Album title and artist might be correct, but the track title and file number would be wrong. And this information would be stored in the CUE files...

Yes, the tagging point is true, I've only had 3 APE files I have had to split up. I don't have all the answers!

Usually because converting to WAV is an uneeded task.

Going to WAV does make files bigger. FLAC isn't widely supported? Crap programs then.

Well, its only going to be temporary anyway. Encode the separate wav files to flac and tag them properly.

Might very well be.
But I have not found any applications that support splitting CUE/FLAC files (I am on Mac OS X by the way...).

As I said I've used 'Cue Splitter' to split up a few APE files. I didn't even check. APE is to FLAC what ATRAC is to mp3!


Oddly the single APE file in foobar showed up as seperate songs all tagged? Maybe APEs work like that?
So, in that case I would lose tagging.
