Best way to do this?

I'm extremely unfamiliar with this type of equipment, so this may be in the wrong section.
 
Most if not all my PS3 games provide the option to turn off music. But none have the option to play my own music. I want to run both the PS3 audio plus my ipod into headphones. do i just need a small mixer?

If you want to do something like that on a console, and also have some features like 3.5mm in to use your headphones with a mic as a headset, I'd recommend getting an Astro Mixamp because that's essentially what they're designed to do.
