Hi Guys
This Is my first post . What is the best possible way I can connect my Hugo 2 with my Windows & MacBook Laptops .
1. Which of the above Laptops I can expect best sound quality if connected via usb and how ?
2. Hugo 2 usb input does not have isolation, what can I do to minimise the noise/jitter emitted by the usb output of the laptops ?
3. Is there any device/ adaptor I can use in between the laptops usb output and hugo 2 usb input to minimise the noise /jitter , to provide a clean signal ?
Any suggestions is highly appreciated, as I am new to this hobby & a bit confused, as to , what is the best possible solution, so that I can feed the cleanest signal possible to the Hugo 2
Regards

With a laptop I'd use USB on a port that's not near the charging plug. Then pause a song and turn the volume up to listen for any hiss sounds. If it's silent, then you don't need to do anything.

If you can't find a quiet USB port, there's a USB to optical adapter, I have one and it works well for most DACs (as far as playback smoothness) and it's cheap.

For anyone wanting a completely silent noise floor and more USB ports at the same time, the best possible way is with an optical USB cable

If it doesn't have USB C, or just want to expand devices, I use the Yottamaster powered hub

I have all of those and now just use the optical into the hub.

Thanks for the reply . Was planning to connect a ddc between the laptop and the Hugo , will that provide a much cleaner signal as compared to directly connecting the laptop and hugo 2 .
