Didnt know where to put this. Slapped it in the amp forum since it relates to my amp

I go to Lan parties a lot and help run a couple

Anyway I haul my headphone setup to these and we have lmited table space to set stuff up on. My amp usually sits on top of my shuttle but I notice a significant increase in noise when I do that.
EMI from the shuttle's power supply is contaminating my sound

Is there anything I could get to put between the amp and the shuttle for this?
Would a thick piece of alumimum work?

aluminum will not work. What you want is high iron content steel.
Mu-metal is best, a couple of sheets in rotated directions.

Mu-metal is a nickel-iron alloy that has been worked at high temperature to give it a very high permeability (magnetic fields "prefer" to flow through it rather than free space). Don't solder it. And it's not cheap.

You might try setting the amp alongside the PC case, rather than on top.

Ack!
$17.76/linear ft

I think ill look into building a shelf to elevate the audio stuff above the case/monitor

btw: its a shuttle, sitting it alongside would put it closer to the sources of the EMI. The power supply is mounted vertically on the righthand side of the shuttle. I wouldnt be able to put it on the left because theres an intake/outtake (modded my shuttle) from my x800XT videocard which produces 80c of heat...

Looks like a shelf would be the cheapest way to go, lol
