The usual cause for that error is a sample rate mismatch. Try using Foobar's resampler plug-in to test different rates. The second most common rate is 48000 Hz, so this may be what the USB audio interface expects--this also means that the audio interface is not bit-perfect.

If you're using Vista, you may need to resample to either 96000 Hz or 192000 Hz.
