I'm looking to upgrade my source for my HD650 and dt770. I'm currently using an AV710 out of my pc and a Gilmore Lite amp and I've decided to take my listening experience to the next level. What dac would go well with the 650, since I use that primarily with my home system (though helping out the 770 wouldn't hurt either.) My price range is anything $500 or lower. Thanks for any and all suggestions.

The Musiland MD10 fares rather well with my HD650s. Furthermore, the Gilmore Lite w/DPS together with the MD10 and HD650 truly do sing!

Does the DPS really add much to the Gilmore Lite sound quality wise? I was under the impression that it just helped the system to run smoother but wouldn't improve the quality nearly as much as a DAC upgrade would.

why not just save up a bit and go next level up to benchmark DAC1? I got my old version (without USB) from here for $750, which should be sufficient even for balanced amps (if I ever reach that far).

I decided that I wanted to save some money, so went with a Microdac. Thanks for the replies.
