What is the best transportable amp? Any more candidates?

What is your headphone? I've owned the AHA-120, the SR71a and P4. As of right now, the AHA-120 has been the best amp I've owned, including my limited experience w/ desktop amps (O2, E9, EO9K, Asgard, Yulong A800...though the A800 is an amazing amp for its price. I may end up with the A800 for my office and my Neco for home). I loved it with the HD650; in credible dynamics and soundstage. I let it go because of its price. I had bought it used but was going to send it in to Justin to have the gain switched, but that would have added another $50 for there and back shipping to the UK. But still an incredible amp... I've heard owners say its tough to find a desktop amp that costs as much that sounds as good.

The SR71a was good enough that I have another one coming to me, afraid that I may have let go of the first one too soon. I'm excited to try it with my HD650 again. I ABed it with the Neco Soundlab and thought it was close enough to let it go, but curiosity has got the best of me and I have another on the way. Did I remember right? Was the Neco that good or was I just trying to save a $100 or so? At this time, I have the HD650, too, instead of just the HD600.

I didn't get into changing opamps with the P4. In its stock set up, I thought it had plenty of juice but not a lot of finesse. I would prefer the Neco, SR71A, National and, of course, the AHA-120 above it.

The nice thing about the SR71A is that it truly is portable, though maybe not throw in a pocket portable. The AHA-120 is really big, and if you're moving it back and forth from home daily, you may get tired of doing so.

Edit: (Sorry, saw you said PB2, not P4. Oh well... Haven't heard the PB2)

My phones are HD650. May buy HD800 soon. I was thinking of SR71B than SR71A. I have Just Audio UHA-120, Xin Referrence, Xin Mini and JDSLABS C421 black edition as portable amps. This is mainly for transportable full powered amp.

I have found Vorzuge VorAMPpure, Alo continental v3 and R111 mk2 can be LISA killers too. Leaning towards AHA-120. But NewAVguy disputes its capability of driving the HD650.
Theory put aside nothing like user perception. Can it drive HD650 well? How does it compare with SR71b?

I haven't compared it to the SR71B, but have owned the SR71A. To date, the best amp I've heard to date with the HD650 was the AHA-120. Great, great synergy.

I have bought Dacport LX, iFi iUSB and JDS labs C5. Already have Just Audio uHA120. Building a transportable rig to be used with above source. Really leaning toward AHA120 because I love the sound of uHA120. Other two amps I have shortlisted so far are SR-71B and ALO continental v3. Alo has a poor battery life, i think.

Will buy Burson Conductor for my new home set up. Time to say good bye to Stello DA100 and Headamp GS1.
