Since i got my UM2 after selling of the Shure E2C.. i have been experiment with all those different type of tips. Heres are some findings which new westone user could find useful...
I found out that the longer type of tips u use, u will have more and tighter bass.. however the mid and high and some details are drown... This also make the sound dark and veiled....The Shure E5C biflanged tips and long comply tips give this kind of sound when there is a correct seal
In searching for better clarity and balance sound, i find the short comply and the ETY biflange(Ety triple flange cut away the top part) are the best. They are the most comfortable and have the best sound.. Next are SHure E5C clear hard sleeve however they are painful to my ears..
Comply tips are good but like Ety foam tips they get dirty easily.. and i doubt they are washable...
Therefor the best tips for UM2 would be ETY biflange or Shure E5C triple flange with the top head cut off and the stem shortern to ETY tip's length..
