I am looking for a new portable CD player It seems that most people are in agreement that the best bang for the buck is either the Panasonic SL CT 470 or the SL CT 570. I am having difficulty finding a source to buy. Are they discontinued? What would be the best model portable CD player to buy?

These models have been discontinued for quite some time. If you do a search under "source for Panasonic 570", you can get the number to call to order the 570 directly from a Panasonic service center, if they are still available. I got three of them at $65 each. These are units in unopened retail packaging which were returned from retail outlets. They legally cannot be sold as new by Panasonic, but they fit my definition of new.
