Looking to buy my first mp3 player. I want to get a pair of ER4-P as I used these a while back with my PC set up and really liked them. Will only want to play MP3's, SQ is my first priority and will need at least 60GB storage.

Get a Cowon d2 and 2 32 GB sd cards.

so that is adding a massive price to the already pricy machine. 32 gb cards are at least 100$ each added to a player that is not cheap: you will spend far more than on another player.

d2 is nice i will admit but it is not the best for iems at all.

you might try a zune or ipod classic if you want the space. both offer a less mechanical sound so the already piercing er4p will not be further amplified

The Cowon A3 is near vinyl quality (very musical) but I have to admit it shines best with FLAC (lossless) files...I would rip MP3 at their highest bit rate (320)
