Which is the best sounding ipod (harddisk ones, not the Nano or the Shuffle)? i know the 3G one that i have sounds really bad. But i have not heard any other models before. Now that it has finally spoilt, i'm looking to get a new ipod that sounds much better by itself.

I'm using Livewires.

Honestly, I couldnt tell you, I have the Ipod Video 5.5 gen and it sounds decent but the Archos 404 sounds better to me(using Ultimate Ears phones).

Already thread on this subject. Many people say the iPod 5.5G is pretty good.
