looking for the best sound isolating headphones under $1500.  I currently have sony pha-3.  I really like the Mdr-z7 but they say that they have sound leakage so I was wondering what else is available?

Do you mean the best sounding headphones that have good isolation or the absolute best headphones at sound isolation? Most closed headphones isolate sound to a degree, how much isolation do you want?

Then yeah, the t51p/DT1350 has one of the best isolation of its class while sounding great.
If you're after over-ear headphones, the M50 or DT770M are good.

If you're willing to go the IEM route, maybe the Etymotic ER4 or get a CIEM. They'll offer better isolation than most on/over ear headphones.
