OK, seems I have three options to set up my sound. I am getting a modded x-fi from soloz2 and I am taking the opportunity to redo my whole sound setup. I will be purchasing new headphones and new cables, but would like to keep my existing MisterX cmoy and Klipsch Silver 2.0 speakers. The phones will used for heavy gaming, mostly fps but some RTS and some other misc gaming, almost completely single player on this rig though.
Now for the ?, how do I hook up those items? Current setup in in sig, but I want to remove the plantronics switch. So do I...
1. hook the speakers to the x-fi, then the amp to the speakers and the phones to the amp?
2. get a high quality y-cable and run both the speakers and the amp to the x-fi, then hook the phones to the amp?
3. replace the switch with a better switch (look endlessly, didn't really see anything affordable (>$50)), and hook up using existing configuration?
If anyone has other ideas, fell free to provide them.
