I'm using the Copperhead on my Hydra 6 and am pretty happy with it.
I tried the Taipan on it for a while, and while it very noticeably made the sound fuller, richer, and bigger, I preferred the lighter faster presentation of the Copperhead (and it's a whole lot cheaper).

FYI, I do not have my amp plugged into it, but everything else is.

I'd probably go with the Anaconda Alpha (that's the one for faster, more power hungry gear). Like I said, I'm thinking it's probably very important to have a premium power cord for any Power Conditioner. I wonder if someone's done a review with and sans good power cord with one of them? I bet it would be enlightening....

EDIT: Do you have your amp plugged into any kind of Surge Protection? That was one main reasons I was wanting the Hydra 2 (I live in a area with alot of lightning strikes and power surges). I also think I live in an area where my house doesn't get alot of good/clean power (hence, the Monster AVS 2000) so I've been thinking those Hydras would be a big help for a while.

No, it's plugged directly into the wall.
I'm using a Berning ZH-270 which has it's own power conditioning built in. I tried plugging it to the Hydra, but it didn't really make any difference.

Well, good luck. I don't think I could have any of my gear without surge protection. Without power conditioning maybe, but surge protection? No.

Here is an interesting site that attempts to show you how to build your own Hydra.

We don't get them but if it happened I guess I'd be seeing my insurance man to file a claim.
