[Azure Feast]

Hi there,
I am looking for the best USB DAC / Portable to drive my HD 650. (from PC, iPod, iMac & CD)

Currently my shortlist is made of iBasso D4, CORDA 3MOVE & Practical Device XM5. (with the Vivid Technology V1 as an outsider).

I am somewhat concerned that the D4 and maybe the 3MOVE may reinforce the slightly prominent mid-Bass of the HD650 a bit too much. It is much easier to find detailed reviews with the HD600, but my understanding is that the HD650 is quite a bit warmer than the HD600.

I would like some advise...

I recommend you look into this Headphonia.com - Headstage Arrow 12HE (High Efficiency) .

I have read that it can power hd 650's perfectly well so yea and is on par with high end stuff and or a bit better.

Arrow is does not have DAC integrated, it is a separate product. Take a look at Pico AMP/DAC if you want the DAC function build in with the amp.

Yes, that one escaped my radar so far as it is pretty new. But after reading about it I decided that I would go for that one together with their USB stick.

The combination of the two cost about as much as the other options I was thinking of and means less handling than having just one device.

Did you find a solution yet? I have same issue as you HD650, but need portable amp, ibasso d4, arrow amp 12he, 3move, or V1. Really reconsidering why I didn't by HD600, would've made life easier.

I recommend headamp pico amp/DAC. Drives my HD650 and HD800 well
