Hi,
I'm a Stax user and plan to go abroad for a long time taking my Samsung netbook (Win7)
(with external USB-HD full of my Audio, as FLAC or AIF files) and my old
Sony CD-777 headphone. The audio-interface should also improve the sound from my
Nokia N8 smartphone (Symbian) the SD-card of which is full of MP3 files.
My Staxen stay at home. What would be the (arguably) best choice of a portable
USB interface, a DAC with integrated headphone amp? The Sony cans are reasonably
efficient, I used them a long time ago with the best Sony cassette walkmans (walkmen?)
which all had only a few mW output. But a strong amp is always a plus I guess.
There are too many different brands and models, what about the FiiO series? The
Dragonfly seems a bit expensive or is it its money worth? I don't want to spend much
more money than that. What would be or has been your choice? And what are all the
pro's and con's? Maybe there is a similar thread already ...
Thanks a lot.
