I know it's not the kind of device that makes you think about audio quality, but I need one and I'm looking for something good enough to set up in a work environment and for traveling.
It has to be compatible with the non-Lighting iPod Touch and I need one with a *battery*.
Price range is up to 150€. Any idea for something with a decent balanced sound?

If you know what Bose speakers sound like, I think they make a portable bluetooth speaker under $200.  Logitech as well.  A good source to use to shop, ironically, is the Apple store.  They carry many portable speaker brands, most of good to high quality.

Thanks for the reply. Bose is over budget, but Logitech seems ok -- it was already in my options -- but I'd like have some impressions here from HF about the sound quality, considering most of the review I find are not from audio enthusiast site.

Candidates, for now:

-Altec Lansing
Can't say I'm a fan of the look, but the reviews are positive.

-Logitech i715i:
ugly as hell, but seems has the best price-quality ratio.

-Yamaha PDX-11:
Interesting shape, but just a mid-hi and sub speaker configuration. Have no idea how it sound and is cheap.

Here's a link to look at the pictures.  What I do is find a product that appeals to me and then take the make and model to amazon.com and search for it there.  On their site you can read all the reviews left by people who have purchased and used the item to see what their opinions are.  Helps to make the best informed decision possible without a bunch of trial and error.
