Old school (no antishock)

2) D-555
3) d-35
I forgot now...I'll update later
as Purk has mentioned, the D515, D311. E905... and to me D211 are all highly regarded. I'm picking up a D34 Discman (iirc) on Saturday, so i'll see what I think of that, seeing that the D33 seems to be a highly respected model around these parts (and I still haven't listened to one

So what, in the great enigma that Sony's numbering system presents, is a D-34?

Maybe i'm just being stupid... i'll find out on Saturday hopefully (although, don't forget that the European & Far Eastern model numbers differed from the US model numbers for a number of years
cyclonite
No... none yet so far as I know
...and if the D245 is anything like the D345, its not so bad, but very gray sounding... not too much in the way of life, but is an honest sound that'd probably suit grados quite well

No, no, I'm not saying there isn't such a thing, I've just never heard of one (which doesn't mean a lot) and thought you might know more. From reading between the lines I got the impression you might be implying (note me getting really careful) it was related to the D-33? Wouldn't that be to easy, if the D-33 had a relative, I bet they'd have called it D-41 or something less obvious
