Been looking at amps to clear up the treble a bit and generally provide a cleaner signal than my source currently outputs, but not sure which one to go for. The C&C Box, XM4 and Mini³ seem to be most recomended for the Grado SR225's around here from using the search feature. Preferably would like the headphone jack to be the bigger type and not the 3.5mm one as my adapater is pants. My source is a standard 4G iPod running rockbox, not sure if this is the best configuration. Also, which version of the mini³ is better for grado phones, the 2db gain one for IEM's ? or 5db gain one.

I believe the only "portable" amp with the 1/4" jack is the LaRocco PRII, which is somewhat of a stretch to call portable.

However, I find the synergy between my Grado RS-2's and my Tomahawk to be excellent, and I used to own SR-225's and I remember that synergy to be equally excellent. Tight punchy bass and smooth highs.
