I'm looking for something that will take the "boom" off... currently using a 2GB Clip classic. I listen to a lot of indie, jazz and classical.
 
My EQ is set to the "Jazz" level and I have the latest firmware on the Clip

I was interested to see your suggestion to Rockbox the Clip, which is what I am using now. How would this change things?
