Hi, a friend of mine is interested in buying a new pair of HD595, what is the best place (cheap and reliable) that you know of to buy it from?

You can buy new with 2 yr warranty from J&R
for about $167 .

when you call, tell them you know that is their lowest price and you would like to but it for that
ofcourse unless you get a better deal elsewhere that works for you.
