What's are some suggestions for headphones that I should be looking at if I want to plug them in directly to an iPhone 6?

> Music = pop, rap, soft rock

Philips X2 are open headphones that are fairly easy to drive and should work well out an iPhone.

For closed, consider NAD HP50.

Audio Technica M50x is what I use with my 6S Plus

Meze Classic 99's are the most enjoyable I have yet heard through my iPhone 6. Fantastic closed headphones!

You should also check out the Oppo PM-3 (for closed) and The HiFiMAN HE400S (for open). Both are just excellent cans.
