Let's start with some basics:

1) when you say not noise cancelling, do you mean that you want an open headphone (one where you can hear outside noises and others can hear your music) or just a closed headphone that doesn't do any active noise cancelling (like Bose)?

2) What kinds of music do you listen to?

3) Do you know if you have any particular sound preferences (e.g., bassy, detailed, etc.)?

Here's a quick lesson on the different types. Which do you want?

1) Closed phones. These act like earmuffs and block out all noise to some degree.

2) Open phones. These don't block out any sound. Also they leak sound (other's can hear your music if they are near)

3) Noise cancelling. These run on batteries to power a circuit which generates what could be called "Anti-noise". The anti-noise cancels out a small degree of rumble or roar (bassy sounds). So you hear the airplane/bus/train noise a bit less but doesn't really affect conversations or other sounds around you.

I assume you mean #2?

I want closed phones (but not the kind were u have to put any batery in, and i dont want others to hear) like a earmuff. i listen to classic rock, rock, little pop rock, and little soft rock. i want them a tiny tiny bit more bassy than regular!
thx.

Try out the AKG K26P, pretty good for $40, and foldable/small, or Sennheiser HD201.

If I understand you correctly, by "not noise cancelling", you mean "open" headphones.

Under $75 I'd have to say Grado SR60, hands down. The only thing you might not like is the thick/long cord. That being the case, you may consider PX100's or one of the Koss headphones often recommended around here (KSC 35/50/55/75/porta pro/sporta pro).

Oops, missed the part where you said you wanted closed headphones...

Ummmm yeah, from what I've heard so far the 26P is probably your best bet.
