My situation is that I have been using my Supermacro v3 with Shure E4c's out of my iAudio X5, and have been very satisfied with the sound quality and characteristics. I'm using the 627 opamp in my Supermacro. I've read that this opamp is pretty bassy, so matched with the bass-light E4's, I feel this combination produces good synergy.

However, now I've purchased a set of Westone UM2's, and am not so sure that the 627 is the best opamp for these very warm and bassy canalphones. I've only listened to the 627, so I don't know what degree of difference the opamp makes to the overall sound signature of the source/amp/earphone combination...but I'm curious as to whether there is an opamp out there that would be better matched for my equiptment?

Perhaps the difference between opamps is subtle enough that changing to another one wouldn't really improve things a whole lot? Anyways, any feedback is greatly appreciated...
