Best NES / SNES Games?

Got a nice controller and emulators up and running, and I'm slowly making my through Mike Tyson's Punch Out again

It got me thinking...screw new games. I can't keep up with all the new systems anymore and frankly I don't even want to, there's so much crap coming out.

So, what would you recommend? At the moment I'm looking for more arcade type games to kill time, I don't need any 60 hour games (plus I've went through most of the classic RPG's as a kid already).

Perhaps a bit lengthy for your tastes, but Castlevania III was always one of my favs for NES. So epic and the music is amazing. Its a platformer

RC Pro-am - don't get better than this racing game

SNES - rock'n roll racing - like a super version of rc pro-am
Zelda - a link to the past

as far as classic remakes... i am sure you have not encountered ultima 6 which is a decent port of the pc game ultima 6. ignore any other ports from this series which has 2 games from top rpg of all time in top 10.

Never played Jackal, I'll have to try that. I was nuts on RC Pro Am and one of the Castlevanias (I think 2?) as a kid but I wouldn't mind trying them again.

Also I just remembered Double Dragon! Gonna get that for sure

Castlevania II was like a mix of the first one and an RPG at the same time. Castlevania III is just a basic platformer. But like I said its a really epic game with great environments (considering...), and awesome music. Definitely recommended.

Most of the best RPG's ever made were on the SNES. Jeez I can go on and on. Zelda Link to the Past, Earthbound, Secret of Mana 1 and 2, Final Fantasy 3 and 5, Lufia 1 and 2, Tales of Phantasia, Crono Trigger, Super Mario RPG, Breath of Fire 1 and 2, Shadowrun, etc.

there is also a decent conversion of samurai spirits. it has most of the gameplay elements of the original neo-geo classic whilst simpliying the grafix and soud - big time waster for me

Also Duck Hunt, but good luck playing that on an emulator.
