Been on this forum a while and cant recall this question talked about.i have a creative zen xtra mp3 and its a lot better than i expected with dt990 and PA2V2.Would a portable cd player take my set up into improved sound or perhaps a full size cd player or cd player coming out of a receiver? thanks for comments

Get a record player. Lovely source and great fun for infinite tweaking.

If you need portable, try finding an AT soundburger.

A good standalone CDP would be worth considering, or why not get a decent (or good or excellent, for that matter) sound card for your computer?
