Hey everyone. I'm looking for an MP3 player around $100 that has decent sound quality. It's going to be a Christmas gift for someone else. It looks like there are a lot of options out there in this price range, but I'm not sure which one to get. Can you help me out here?

Thanks

Ok I'm leaning towards an 8 gig Sansa Fuze. I can get one for around $100 new. According to what I've read from users on head-fi, they seem to be pretty decent.

x2, my thread is on the main source page here with the link. Got mine for 60 shipped, there's an A-Data 8gb MicroSDHC card on Newegg right now for 18 bucks shipped.

Yahtzee!

The 8GB Fuze was available for as little as $50 last week, so keep looking. For $80 you should be able to get a 16GB Fuze on sale. Check Amazon and Price Grabber.

For about $130 you can get a Cowan D2 with a carry case and a screen protector.

I'll look around, but at this point, ordering online from a place selling it that cheap may not guarantee that I get it before Christmas. Thanks for the help though. I know Best Buy has it on sale for $90.

Also, Amazon does not appear to have any good deals on it at the moment. I must have just missed that one. I saw the deal on overstock just now, but they appear to be sold out there.

The best player that meets your criterion is definitely the Fuze. But apparently you haven't been able to find a good deal. Have you tried Buy.com? BHPhoto?

No I haven't tried those sites yet. And with Christmas right around the corner, I don't know if I want to risk getting it in time. I might just pay the premium at Best Buy to have it in my hands in time.
