I am aware that there are many DACs that offer a superior price/performance ratio (such as the blue circle audio USB Thingee and the musical fidelity V-Dac) due to their modest designs, but they are just so darned ugly that I cannot bring myself to buy one.

My room mate has the Pro-Ject USB Box and though I like the way it looks, I find the SQ to be less than impressive--even at that low price.

I am looking for a DAC that is less than $600, sounds great, and looks pretty. I like to keep my setup looking good. Does anybody have any ideas for me?

If all else fails, I will buy the V-DAC and tuck it away somewhere

Thanks Palpatine! That is a pretty good looking DAC. I will have to look more closely at reviews and comparisons with the dacmagic

I do like the look of the DacMagic actually! I think I prefer it in silver though. What is the finish like on it? Is it anodized aluminum?

Quite limited choice, but of those four ones I would say the Dacmagic.
