Looking for impressions on what amp has the best imaging and soundstage for under or about $1500. I listen to mostly classical ranging from chamber/solo to orchestral and opera. Solid state or tubes is fine.

Preferences:
Comes in silver.
Balanced inputs and output.
Fits on a desk.
If it has tubes, not ones that either have to be upgraded from stock to sound decent or that cost a fortune to replace.

I’ve recently tried:
Schiit Jotenheim 1 and 2, Folkvangr, and Asgard 3.
Woo WA7tp

The Lyr+ looks interesting, but I’ve had a number of Schiit amps (various Magnis, Vali 1 and 2, Valhalla 2, Lyr 2) and haven’t ended up keeping any of them for very long, so their house sound might just not be for me. The Wa7 has held the best for me, but I suspect there are better overall options out there.

Have you looked at the iFi Pro iCAN? It's solid state with a tube mode... has a bunch of settings to play with.
