I'm trying to find some IEMs for my 14 yr. old to replace his crappy Zune buds.

I'd like to stay in the $30 or under range.

So far the choices are:

JBuds J2
Senn CX300
Sony MDR-EX75

Any others?

I've owned the Senns but thought I'd ask anyway.

The two not on your list that are both under $30 that I would recommend are the JVC Marshmallow (HA-FX33/34) and JVC Air Cushion (HA-FX66)

From my experience, two of my cousins at the age of 13-15 didn't like the feeling of IEMs and much preferred the Yuin PK 3s.

Do Zunes come with "Zune Premium Earbuds"? The ones with magnets on the end, or do have to buy them separately?

Id recommend the J2 over the CX300. The J2 has a lot better highs but less bass than the CX300s. Also Ive read that the J2s are supposed to be a little better than the pl-30.

I heard that the Koss IEM's are good. They are supposed to be cheap also. Try looking around for those.

I got these a week ago Sennheiser CX-400B Classic Line Earbud Headphones - Black in Corded Headphones at JR.com They sound great and they come with a pouch, clip and thing to keep the wires untangled.

Thanks everyone. I think I'm going to try out the J2s. I've had many of the others and it might be nice to try something new.
