I've been using a 400i, and while i love it, I've always felt that it is a little dark for Nick Drake's delicate voice. In fact I feel that my bright gaming headset captures the emotion of the music better. Is anyone else a superfan? What HPs do you think have the best synergy with Nick's music? I was impressed by an HD800 I demoed but didn't have very long with it.
 
 
FYI, I find that the 3d mode on the IDSD micro enhances the music, especially Bryter Layter.

...but it really depends on the associated other hardware.  Typically, I play a Fiio X5-II and find the SE846 to be an especially good pairing with it on just about any music. But, with my Pono, they're not quite as synergistic in my estimation.

Interesting, I hadn't thought about IEMs. Does he sound better with the Shure than on your Stax?
