Yes--perhaps the 80 Ohm version is worse.  I haven't heard it.

I don't know about recessed mids. I am very analytical when it comes to indie and acoustic tracks, so I want a very precise sound.

i would look at reviews of the DT 770 250ohm, and the DT 770 80ohm before counting them out, because from what i hear they really do sound quit different.
 
one might have recessed mids but lots of bass (80ohm), and one might be more neutral (250ohm).

The DT770 Pro 80-Ohm and Pro 250-Ohm are really not that different, the 80-ohm is slightly more bassy.
But if you pump enough power into them it's really hard to tell the difference.
