Best headphones without use of amp?

The bass is FAR tighter amped. Really audible. SRH840 or ESW9 is a far better choice unamped.

As mentioned, Grado will do the business without an amp, and my Ultrasones are also quote good straight from a DAP, as are most A-T phones. Hang around here long enough and you will have an amp. Or 3
