The Shures may be a really good answer, but he'd be tempted to wear them in class since they're so low profile. He might get away with it, too, for a little while, but he should know he WILL get caught. It'll happen the first time someone he can't see tries to get his attention.

i do that all the time. its not too bad, ppl usually just think your being a jerk. but when you really get into the music (tapping, moving... singing) thats when you get in trouble (and embarassed) the shure's are great phones.

btw whoever recommended the A900's What are you thinking? those things are MASSIVE !
