I jog/run miles with my EX70 all the time and they stays put pretty well. However with the EX71 and the short chord it's better to have a remote that clips on to say a shirt sleeve or something like that because the extension line with the plug just adds extra weight to the line and creates a sort of pendulum effect that tugs at the earbud if you move a lot.

I've tried to use my EX71's with the extension attached to my MZ-S1 Sports MD Walkman, and I'm well aware of the pendulum effect. I have to labyrinth the cords in through some clothing to get rid of the problem.

I use my Ety's/ipod at the gym. I had problems with the E2's at times falling out, or needing to reposition them--just my ears I suppose. And I got so addicted to the Ety's, I finally broke down and began using them at the gym. I'm not lifting with free wieghts (except for dumbells), just machines, so safety isn't an issue for me. But I probably wouldn't use them with free weights; the potential for disaster is there in that situation. And I like the fact that all I hear is my music, and not what's going on around me. I also use them on an elliptical, where I really love them. I haven't had any problems with sweat or the filters; and once there in properly, I never have to fiddle with them, like I did with my E2's (although this was a relatively minor nuisance). I can certainly understand the arguments against using them at the gym, but the Ety's are so much darned better than anything else portable I own, I just can't put them away.
