Best headphones for piano?

With my Yamaha P90 I found the HD650 to sound great for about 80% of the range. The lowest and highest octaves have a lot of buzz (is this distortion?) associated with them.

Not sure what I should be using though, or if this is a limitation of the DAC/Amp in the digital piano itself.

For Piano the Spirit Torino Pulsar is by far the best I ever heard.

Can you compare Pulsar with Utopia OG?
Pulsar is more suitable for piano overall but Utopia is more transparent through the mid and higher. For piano biased music collection I would go with Pulsar.

Custom IEM (probably should be wireless) for practicing, and Focal Clear or Utopia 2022 or Spirit Torino Pulsar for enjoyment. Ideally Grado HP1000 or PS1 would be better with your current setup or HE6 if you are willing to spend more on amp and source.
Agreed. My two favourite headphones are the Grado GH2's and the Focal (OG) Clear's. I love them with everything, but especially Keith Jarrett. I Love the The Köln Concert and am working through the shows in Japan, Sun Bear Concerts. No one does mids like Grado's and the Clear's just do it all.

How do they compare in bass impact, bass clarity and quantity? Thanks!
Impact: about the same
Clarity: Utopia
Quantity: Pulsar
Extension (how deep the bass goes): Pulsar

Why don't you demo them both - I think you will be happy with either but spending $5k+ without demoing is not ideal.

I have the Utopia and hope to audition Spirit Torino at CanJam NYC.
Try the pulsar with gsx2 not the tube amp they normally pair the cans with.
