Hello all,
Looking for some advice on multiple levels here.
Looking for headphones around $500 or less and need some suggestions..

Also asking this basic question.. How should I be evaluating headphone for this use?
Imaging?
Soundstage?
Bass?
Looking for a fun, dynamic home theater replacement like feel to it (feeling of 3D immersion)
What else?
I am using a Recon 3D to simulate 5.1/7.1 surround from DirectTV DD 5.1.  On laptop, using Razer (free) software.

I will also need an amp in the $100-200 range.

So far, I have listened to the Kef M500 and the Hifiman HE-400 using a Musical Fidelity v2 tube amp from 10 years ago.
The Kef had no soundstage but imaging was good.  The HE-400 was good in most of the above but wondering if the HE-4 , HE-400i would be better or perhaps Denon AH-D600.  I have 2 rooms I watch movies in and really want to get a new amp to try out too.

Any help is greatly appreciated!
