What would you say is the money-is-no-object best headphones for this style?

Probably either the Abyss AB-1266 Phi TC or the Hifiman Susvara. The Abyss seems to be the favorite of metal- and bassheads between the two. The Susvara is more of an all-arounder.

And yes, I primarily only listen to metal and specifically prog/tech genres.
