What are the best headphones for less than 50 dollars? Looking to buy an upgrade for my friend's birthday who has a beat up pair of Sennheiser HD212's

Another vote for iGrados

Seriously, I think they're among the best bang for the buck headphones one can get. They are exactly what I would suggest to someone looking to experience audiophile sound but not wanting to spend a ton of cash.

Also, depending on what you want, there are a few simple mods (zero cost) you can do to change their sound. I did the quarter mod on my pads.
