Trust me those are totally worth it, you can buy a Fiio E11 for around $35 here on head fi, they would do a great job powering the Dt 990. Trust me it's an excellent can! I own it and I love it

The DT990s are going to be impressive for EDM. Lots of open headphones don't have much sub bass output because they start to roll off in the mid bass region. In your price range, I would think it would be very hard to find another pair of open headphones with bass output like the DT990s.

I second this, trust me I LOVE mt dt 990s to DEATH, they are also very nice with Classical Jazz, and Nu Jazz
