hi, I'm a newbie in headphones and looking for a portable, or semi-portable on ear headphone to listen music through my player, mostly.
the three genres of music that I listen the most are:

_Progressive Rock
_Alternative Rock
_Electronic(especially Psycho)

my budget is about 200$, what do you suggest for my use?

thanks

I'm not planning on getting an amp

If you want to have any portability at all, don't go with a Grado can... They're completely open.

My suggestion would be the HD25 1-II

haha sorry i never tried the HD25 so i cant really recommend it. one thing for sure is ill get the adidas version one day xD .

I have the MS300... which i bought around 130USD from amazon last time. really **** good deal to me, price rose though.. It sounds aggressive and a lil bassy.

But what do u want to hear in your music? the bass? the treble?

the Audio technica M50s is an excellent allrounder ... while the PRO700mk2 apparently has amazing bass. Ohhh so many to choose from

The Denon HP700 is an excellent choice as well and do not require an amp.

well, the mids and highs are more important than bass to me. M50 is so big, I want sth to walk around with it without looking like an allien:D
