They are king of rock, not metal IMO. At least it depends on which type of metal and how you want to hear it. I think they are way too aggressive for metal, but perfect for rock.

Hifiman HE-400 are amazing for electronic. I think they have it all. Articulated and textured bass, full sounding mids for vocals and nice sparkly treble for energy. Soundstage is also really good. (important for me)
