Best Grado for the money?

Hi, I am looking to buy a pair of Grado headphones. I am eyeing the RS2e. I was wondering if they are good enough or would it be worth spending more? I'm not a high end audiophile. I'm thinking about diminishing returns if I spend more than on the RS2e.

If you can get a second hand RS2e for under $300, you're golden. That was my preferred model among the Prestige and "Reference" lines when I was big into Grado (owned all models but the PS1000/GS2000 and the Joseph models). I found the the RS2 varients as the most neutral and less colored within the two Grado lines.

I typically recommend the SR225 model as the entry model into the Grado world if the budget is tight.

For my ears it was. If you want more bass the PS500 might be a better choice, but a little more coin.

The most I would be willing to spend is $1000. I'm looking at the GS1000e. Would there be a significant difference between the RS2e and GS1000e?

Huh, why not one of the limited editions? If I had a thou to throw at another pair of cans I'd consider the White edition. I think they're 750, shipped stateside.

SR325 are the best Grado bang for the buck period.

I founf G series sounded wonky and couldn't tell much difference ffrom the expensive PS series to 325. 325 must be the right one.

Some more details how I figured this out. I was at an Hifi audio-shop with a bunch of grados from SR80 to GS2000. I was looking for the sweetspot and found it from the SR325. This was a perfect scenario for me to figure out.
