Seeing as my old $60 Rocketfish headset recently bit the dust(moved it and one of the speakers just blew out), I'm in the market for a new gaming headset.
As I'll be using this for hours, comfortability is a must, but sound quality always comes first. Unfortunately, I do not have a dedicated soundcard, just the one on my motherboard, so most headsets that deliver true surround sound are a no-go. Virtual surround sound seems like the optimum path for me, and as such I am looking at a pair of Logitech G930's.
Here they are for $105: http://www.amazon.com/Logitech-Wireless-Gaming-Headset-Surround/dp/B003VANOFY
Price point is $150, but ideally anything cheaper would be great!
