As the title says, I have a lot of cd's to rip (about 3500). I will be using DB Poweramp to accomplish this. I need an external drive to accomplish this, and could use your help in identifying what drive will best meet my needs. It obviously needs to  be solid, well built, rugged and accurate with that many cd's to rip. Your recommendations and assistance would be greatly appreciated.

I just went through the same excercise, using a Nimbie USB disc autoloader.
It has perfect integration into dbPoweramp and did a great job ripping my 1.500 cd's.

Because of the Accurate RIP DB feature in dbPoweramp, for most cd's it is made sure the result is correct.
So I would say any cd drive (including the one built into Nimbie which in my case is a Pioneer) should work fine.

I also tried a couple of single USB cd/dvd/bluray drives with same results.

BTW, dbPoweramp support multiple devices (Nimbie's, single drives or any combination). So when I was getting impatient, I let my PC rip with the Nimbie and 4 more single drives. Worked perfectly.
