I've been listening to my KSC-75s for about 2 months and I've been pretty satisfied with it. One super duper major problem I have with the headphones is that they are so uncomfortable. I tried adjusting the clips but I just couldn't find a comfortable fit for me. I would listen to the KSC-75 for about an hour then I would get uncomfortable and go back to my earphones, I guess in the end I prefer earphones instead.
Since I am on a tight budget, I am hoping to get some recommendations for good earphones or canal phones for around $50.

I think the pk3's would fit your needs nicely. They have a really enjoyable sound to my ears and you can get them from head-direct for $35. I read in the pk3 appreciation thread that some people thought they were the ksc-75 of the earbud world.

I can't say that I have personal experience with them, but the Crossroad Mylar X3's get good buzz around that price point.

Try Sennheiser PMX100 behind the neck headband, at Target.com for $45 or Ebay for $35 - same great sound as the PX100. They are pretty comfortable - been wearing mine for 3 hours as I surf the web to music tonight.

I tested some Denon AH-C350 in the ear phones at a local sound shop, and they were not bad for $49, but the C700 blew them away (but I paid $199 for the C700). The AH-C350 sounded better to me than the Sennheiser CX300 (which have too much bass), and they sound similar but a somewhat better than the Sony EX51LP/EX71's.

The Sony's are comfortable, but the build quality sucks and the Creative EP-630 and Sennheiser CX300 beat them in both sound quality and durability. I'd recommend a switch.

Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo! My least favourite earbud ever. Stupid bass and no treble. To think I replaced my Sony ED-268s with them. Bah. Wish they still made the 268s, awesome vfm earbuds...

Creative ep 630 would be (and already is) my choice on move. At home PX100 are good enough, usually listening to.
