Just got bit by the headphone bug and picked up a pair of DT880s and HD650s. I would like the re-cable both. I don't buy into all the cable voodoo but still want to put good cables on them to see if I hear a difference. Any suggestions on what cables and where I could get new plugs for the Senns?

AFAIK you can't get aftermarket plugs for the Senns. You'll have to sacrifice your current cable, or buy a replacement from Sennheiser and use its plugs.

I would think there is a source somewhere. Does Zu, Moon, and Cardas make their own ends or are they sourced from somewhere else?

Zu, Moon, and Cardas all produce their own plugs. Cardas and Moon use custom molded plugs while Zu uses machined aluminum plugs. The only way that DIYers can obtain Senn plugs is to chop up a Senn cable and use the ends from it. Cardas was supposedly thinking about producing connectors for DIY but I heard that they thought it might eat into their sales and decided against it.

Thats silly. Looks like I just might have to start making plugs for them. How much do you think people would pay for a good set?

Seriously, it'd depend on production quality and materials... although you would have a monopoly on the DIY market if you did!
