Anyone know where in Manhattan I can audition DAPs with my headphones? I have Sennheiser PXC450, which I need to actually test w/ various DAPs to see if they're compatible. (Yes, yes, I know I can get the best sound out of the cans using an amp, but I'd rather go amp-less, moving about in NYC.) I'd like to try out Cowon & Sony players especially, and maybe Kenwoods. Thanks!

your best bet is J&R. however, i dont know if their players are charged and have any music on them. of course any Apple store if u want to get an ipod....

I'll try J&R. But, ugh, I lost my faith in Apple as my current DAP is the 4G iPod color, in my opinion one of the most irresponsibly made DAPs by a major company. It has this static fuzz around the piano solos & vocal solos. I'm sure the company knew about this as MANY people complained, but they didn't do jack about this. Made them buy the next gen iPod instead. I'm not down with that... unless the new 32GB iPod Touch sounds amazing =)

Based on selection, also try B&H in mid-town (B&H Photo Video | Digital Cameras, Camcorders). I've never been there, so can't comment on how they are about letting you try out the daps or if they have music on them.
