Looking for a recommendation....  Trying to stay under $500.  Does not need to be portable.
I am hooking up the digital Coax output of a DirectTV Genie system to watch movies at night and in the morning while my wife sleeps.
 
Thoughts?

Also, would a HIFIMAN 400 or 500 series sound better than my Grado RS-1 (which I purchased 10 years) ago for movies?

I haven't heard the Grado RS-1, but I do own the SR225i. To me, they don't generally benefit as much from an amp as many other headphones. They seem easy enough to drive. Of course a nicer DAC (if you don't have a good one) could give you a little better sound.

The HE-400s would be nice for movie watching because of their deeper and more emphasized bass extension.
